Evie told herself not to fall for her pro-hockey crush. But when she sees him holding her baby girl, all bets are off.

When Evie moves South to the same mountain town where her childhood crush plays pro-hockey, she arms herself with all the reasons why she can’t fall for him again.

Number one: Alec is her best friend’s much older brother.
Number two: She’s recently divorced and does not need another man in her life. At least not anytime soon.
Number three: With a four-month-old daughter, she has zero time for dating.

Trouble is, Evie doesn’t know another soul in North Carolina, so when her rental floods before she’s even moved in, her only option is to crash with Alec for a few weeks. When she protests, he insists it’s what he’d do for his sister, and that’s basically what she is to him.

But all these years later, the unexpected chemistry between them definitely says otherwise.

A new relationship is risky when Evie is still licking her wounds from her divorce, and she has no idea if Alec has any desire to be a dad. His sister already warned he isn’t the type to settle down.

But she can’t make herself care about any of that. Not until she’s already fallen, and it might be too late to save herself from another heartbreak.

When Alec Met Evie is a closed-door, best friend’s brother hockey romcom with heart and humor, sizzle but no spice. Perfect for fans of sports romance who want a little less heat.

Books in the Appies Hockey Romance series are connected and chronological but still stand alone and can be read in any order.

I don’t even know how to describe how much emotion this book caused me. It makes me want so much more! This series is so well done.

I really enjoyed reading When Alec met Evie, it was so cute and adorable and literally had my all favourite tropes…couldn’t be happier ❤️😆. I loved the romance between the Alec and Evie and don’t even get be started on the cute moments with little sweet baby Juno and Alec 😭🥹🤧. It was also a nice change of pace with Alec’s story and the challenges he had to face and how he dealt it those (I haven’t read a lot of books at touched on such a topic so it was really nice to see). The only thing I’d say, is that I would have wanted more written moments between the 3 or 2 of them. So what I mean is, that there were times where it said they did things across a few weeks and I personally would have wanted to read about it in the moment (since it either sounded exciting or sweet) rather than hearing about it after the fact… if that makes sense. But other than that, really great book. It’s honestly so sad that it has to end 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭… this series is my FAVORITE and it even got me into Hockey a little. Ms Jenny and Emma you guys are amazing authors and I loved the journey that you took us on in the world of The Appies. I will truly miss it!

This is a great and unique book. All of the quirky characters from the other books in this series, but a new, lovely and emotionally mature woman for the charismatic Alec. It was easy to start shipping them from the get go. They are both pretty much the ultimate book boyfriend and girlfriend as individuals but together, they’re magic. It was a pleasure to read about their evolving romance, which was relatively drama free. Yes, they both had obstacles to overcome as all romance novels do, but they did so with grace as well as love and respect for each other.

Can I get an Alec please? I loved this book!
Oh, my cuteness overload! I knew I was going to love Alec going into this book because I was already a fan of his character in the other Appies books, but boy oh boy, did I fall hard for his good guy character. Alec is the kind of man the girls really want and lucky Evie. This book was so good. It completely pulled me in and tugged at my heartstrings the whole story through. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect ending to this fantastic series. This book really hit all the high notes as it had all the hockey and team connections I just love about these characters. Hockey itself had such a strong presence with Alec and, in order not to spoil anything I won’t say much, but even though I kind of guessed where things were going it didn’t lessen the impact at all. That moment at the Summit, yeah, I teared up big time. #iykykEvie was this super hero mom. I loved the dynamic with Juno that she had with her daughter, but also the way Juno’s presence was always accounted for in such a realistic way. Alec holding Juno melted me. It seriously was ridiculously cute. The chemistry was just so strong and made up of all the things that really make a relationship special. I loved it.Another five-star read; I definitely recommend this book.

    When Alec Met Evie
This is such a sweet story. After a divorce and the birth of her child, Evie moves to the same town as her childhood crush. Alec is also her best friend’s brother who is nine years her senior. He also happens to be the captain for the Appies Hockey Team. When she finds her rental house unusable from water damage, her rescuer is Alec. After looking at Evie as a little sister for so long, Alec finally sees her as the mature young mother she has grown to be. Will they be able to have a relationship or will her ex decide to cause conflicts?

    Another great Appies book!
Another great Appies book with lovable and funny characters with heart!Alec is the Appies Team Captain. He is considerate, selfless, and protective. There is something about a man holding a baby. Alec is so sweet with Evie and Juno; how can you not fall in love with him. He falls hard for Evie and Juno. Melt my heart! I also love his love of the game and his team.Evie’s baby girl is her everything. Evie is such a strong, independent, and optimistic person without being unrealistic. I loved how straight forward she was when talking to Alec about motherhood. She’s had to deal with a lot. Loved her journey to realizing what a father to Juno looks like.Alec and Evie are meant to be! Some of my favorite parts:- Alec had me swooning every time he would take a breath and then say “hi” to Evie.- He calls her nerd because when she was younger her nose was always in a book.- The Dream Team moment at the Summit … I have not cried in a book for a while, but this one got me. And it was just perfect!I am so sad that When Alec Met Evie is the last Appies book, but it was the perfect ending to one of the best series I have read. This series introduced me to hockey romcoms and I simply want more!I am going to miss the Dream Team and all their women. What a wonderful group of characters. What When Alec Met Evie has:- Small-town hockey romcom- Single mom FMC- Hockey Captain MMC- Longtime crush- Best friend’s brother- He takes care of her- She trusts him completely- Age gap- Forced proximity- Supportive friends- Off the charts chemistry- Sweet and cleanHappy reading!

    Tears of happiness and sadness!!!!
Ohhh my goodness!!! I absolutely adored the last book in the Appies hockey series!!! This was the series that got me hooked on clean hockey romance and it will forever remain at the top!!! Both Emma St. Claire and Jenny Proctor have done an incredible job and their writing is soooo good!!! The emotions and laughs and tears they bring are innumerable! The characters have been lovely and worked through all kinds of things to come out better for it!!I honestly can’t imagine choosing a favorite because I’ve loved all of them soo sooo much! But I did not imagine Alec being such a wonderfully kind and considerate and protective and devoted captain, friend, brother and boyfriend-husband/stepdad when we met him in the beginning and through the books. Not that he was different obviously but that he was such a character hidden in the pages of all the books to emerge in such a wonderful way!!Y’all I haven’t cried at the end of a book in a while like I cried in this one!!! The support of his team and Evie at the end and his struggles and decision brought tears to my eyes!!! The ceremony at the end and the proposal and Evie’s support gah it was just sooo good and soo emotional!!! They were happy tears and bittersweet tears!!! Such a good ending especially when I got to the part about his job offer!! I was gonna be more sad if he had to step away completely so that brought even more tears to my eyes!!!!I loved Evie and even though she’d been through a lot she was willing to trust Alec even after not seeing each other for years. I loved seeing her realize what a real dad and husband would do and it was soo good!! Gah the men holding the baby!! I’m with Summer and Evie and Parker on this one!! It was sooo cute to read about Nathan not wanting to give Juno back to Alec!!! That was a giggling uncontrollably and kicking feet under the covers kind of moment!!! I loved Evie’s strength in standing up to Devon and realizing that she needed to do what was best for her and Juno and not let them keep getting disappointed over and over again. And Alec’s willingness to let her do it on her own but still be there for her when she needed him.Seriously this was soooo good and I wanna smile, laugh and cry all over again!!!!!!I loved the brotherhood the team was and Alec taking the younger ones under his wing and just all that found family big brother stuff!!! And I will forever love the Dream Team texts!!! Those were awesome in alll the books!!!If you haven’t read this series gooo dooo Iittt!!!!!!!!
