The “Telephone Game” Turned Into The #1 LOL Family & Party Game!

Draw what you see then guess what you saw for hilarious and unpredictable outcomes. It’s miscommunication at its best! Share The Fun, Spread The Laughter! Telestrations LOL With Family & Friends!

Object of the game? To laugh – A lot!

Telestrations is perfect for family parties, fun with friends or entertaining a crowd.

No drawing skills required!

Telestrations is the visual version of the classic “telephone game” where you draw what you see, then guess what you saw to reveal hilarious outcomes!

Here’s How To Play & LOL

Each player starts with their own erasable sketch book, marker and word card. A roll of the die determines each player’s secret word. The timer gets turned and everyone draws their word. After 60 seconds, everyone passes their book to the player on their left. Then each player takes a few seconds to guess in words(s) what they see, and passes again. The timer is turned and everyone draws the guess. This continues until everyone’s sketch book passes by every player and returns back to its original owner, where it’s time for The Big Reveal. Everyone shares their book and the hilarious miscommunication is revealed. Just like the game of “telephone,” the outcomes are unpredictable and the laughter is contagious!

This is the funniest game I have ever played. It is even funnier if you have people playing that are not very good at drawing, as the delight comes from laughing at how badly astray the final word is from the original one. Basically you are given a word each to draw and after drawing it you pass the pad on to your neighbour (without letting anyone see it). You all do this with your pads at the same time. At this point you look back at the drawing you have been given and you have to write what you think it is. You then all pass your pads to the right again, where the player looks at what has been written and then draws it. The next person writes what it is, the next draws what they wrote etc etc, without looking back further than the previous page. Once your pad gets back to you you show everyone the progression from the first word written to the last word written, and all have a good laugh at where it goes horribly wrong. You can get a version for 8 players or this one for 12, but both can be played with less players (the more the better, though, really)

This game is great fun. We have a games lunch at work once a month and it’s difficult to find a game for 12 people to play at the same time. This was perfect. Lots of laughter. We had a fireplace end as a broken vase! The only small issue is that the cards contain quite a few American themed words which can be difficult for other nationalities to draw.

Great game if you are looking for a good laugh.
I bought this game to play at our large family gatherings. We have been playing the same games for years and wanted something new and different, but also brought some humor to the table. After much research, I came across this game, Telestrations. The videos I watched didn’t make it seem as funny as the reviews were expressing the game to be, but after looking at numerous other games and reading their descriptions, this one still came out as having the best potential to accomplish what I was looking for. I bought the party pack size to allow the most people to participate. I have to say, although the game was easy to play once we got the gist of it, at first, it took a few people to read the instructions to understand how to score points, as well as was not clear as to if each person rolled the die and drew something different, if we had to use a specific side of the cards-if one was classified as more difficult, because both sides have items to draw on them etc… To our understanding, each person gets a card. One person rolls the die and whatever number it lands on, each person draws a picture of the word that is on their card (from either side) that corresponds with that number, or writes down the word and passes the pad for the next person to draw the picture; the way in which you proceed depends on the number of players you have. You have a limited amount of time in which to draw which is calculated by a sand timer. You continue on, alternating drawing and guessing, until each pad is back to its original owner (your name is written on the front). Each person takes a turn to display their book to the other players, now filled with photos and guesses, which is where the humor definitely comes into play. Some end up not even close to the original word and it’s hilarious to see how the interpretation changes. The more people that play, the more changes, and the more laughs. You score a point if all of the pictures and guesses made, throughout the entire round, match the original word on the card. I would have given the game 5 stars, however, there is one complaint I have, and that is the pens. The tips are very easily pushed up into the pen itself, leaving only a tiny bit to write with. After the very first time of playing the game, less than half of the pens were still in good condition by the time we were finished. I also think the design could have been better, as far as the eraser being a part of the pen itself, instead of a separate cloth. I have a dry erase board pen that has a soft end for erasing, located where the eraser would be on a regular pencil, that I think would be much more convenient and much easier to use. The cloth itself is so small it ends up rolling or slipping out of your hand and is even more difficult if you don’t have tiny hands to begin with. Overall, I think this is a great game and I highly recommend it. I am looking forward to trying the TelestrationsAfter Dark version my cousin owns as well.

    Best Game Night Fun!
This game is a MUST BUY! We had family game night and friends over for game night. It was a night of great laughter. My cheeks hurt from laughing all night! If you played Telephone and/or Whisper Down the Lane as a child, buy this game and put the words into illustrations. So much fun!!

    Awesome game
This is the third purchase of this game-two were gifts passed on! It is a lot of fun, especially for larger groups! Very easy to play, other than trying to draw quickly! But that’s the best part of the challenge! I absolutely recommend for any gathering of at least 6 or more people!I would not recommend playing with fewer than 5 people! It is much more fun with a group!

    Lots of good laughs
We originally played this game on family vacation with just paper and pencil many years ago. Then I saw the formal game on Amazon – the cards and drawing pads make it easier, and help streamline the process for newbies. This is a game that I keep getting asked to loan out because it is so much fun. You will laugh and laugh. It is a game that is just about the right length of time for a round. More fun with more people. Quality is good.

    Fun game for your family
This game is so much fun. The card size is a typical size and there are six words on each side of the card. The drawing boards were made of great quality and very easy to clean. This is a great gift value for the family to keep forever.

    Perfect for all ages
Telestrations is an absolute blast! It’s perfect for holidays or gatherings with mixed-age groups because everyone can join in the fun. The rules are simple and easy to figure out—no complicated instructions to worry about. You don’t need to be good at drawing to enjoy this game. In fact, the worse you are at drawing, the funnier it gets! Watching everyone try to interpret (and misinterpret) each other’s sketches is guaranteed to have the whole group laughing. Highly recommend for family game nights or parties!
