A very fun game that although may take a warm-up to get into, is very cute (like this company’s other games) while maintaining a level of strategic competition. Especially fun with 3-4 people.I didn’t find it too childish and the concept was very interesting. I do find myself wishing that there were monsters in the base pack but will be looking to purchase the expansion packs soon :)

    Nine-year-old’s favorite game
We really like this game as a family. In fact, it’s my nine-year-old‘s favorite game. It’s intriguing enough for adults to want to play, and for older kids/teenagers as well. And it does not get repetitive. So we can play it over and over again and the game is different every time. It’s nice that it’s a card game so we even take it with us on vacation. We bought the expansions too. After the expansions, we did modify the rules slightly. You have to pick how many monsters you think you should slay and how many different heroes you should lay down. We chose higher numbers than the instructions say. For example, we often play to five monsters or nine different heroes. The only other thing we had to adjust is that sometimes your hero says add to your role. Our house rule is we chose for it to say add or subtract based on what you need. I don’t think the base game accounted for the subtraction need in the expansion. Overall, love the game. It’s very visually appealing (we still love seeing all the character artwork) and exciting/intriguing to play.

    Very Cute and Simple Concept
At the age of 38, I still LOVE board games. I will host “Game Nights” with neighbors and this game has made an appearance once or twice. The rules can be tricky at first, but the more you play and establish “house rules” the more the game begins to flow. I think the concept and the artwork are great and wildly entertaining. The price point for this game is great! I don’t know when board games became so expensive, but this game has so much value for the price point. I plan on buying the expansions for this as well.*I did grow up playing Magic The Gathering, so the turn-style strategy card game concept comes naturally to me. This isn’t always common as I have seen people struggle with strategy card games.

    Fun for all ages
Extremely happy I was able to find this on prime. This game is sort of like a mix between pokemon and dungeons and dragons. The rules are simple and I appreciate how the game makers include mini rule cards for each player in addition to the larger set. I played it once and was hooked. Would recommend for game nights with family or friends. There are other expansion packs you can buy but I didn’t find that necessary – the main card set has enough variation that you can play several games without too many repeats. 10/10.

    Fun Strategic Free for All
The cards are really cute and the gameplay is fun! There is a lot of strategy and interactions between different effects and cards. But it isn’t overwhelming and is very easy to learn. I wish there were more variety with the Magic cards, but the heroes themselves are plenty unique and varied.

    Competitive card game
One of our family’s favorite card game. Multiple strategic ways to win make it very competitive. Each game played is different with random dice consequences for high replay ability. Quick and easy to learn how to play. Great for two or more people. Must know how to read to play.

Fun game and easy to pick up
Game is fun and easy to learn, not too challenging so suitable for any child that can read/count fairly well. Has quite a bit of replay ability and doesn’t take long to play. Characters are unique and cute which makes it even more fun for children. Have recommended to other families for game night.

Fun for everyone – Addictive – Near limitless fun!
Howdy All, I’m going to start off by saying buy the game. The base game AND the expansion are very much worth it. If you are sitting there debating it, don’t. Literally get this game if it does interest you. I was the same way until I bought then played with with friends/family. It’s is very fun once you do a few rounds with the rules. I’ll give a few simple drop of Pros/Cons. Before I start I wanted to explain that even with the Cons the game is still very enjoyable.Pros:==== – In-depth rules that explains ever in/out of the entire game +has little handy rules reference cards for each player to look to for shorthand explanations for their turn.- Simple but lovely designs for the different Classes/Animals/ Monsters.- Relatively short gameplay session ( 30-60 minutes ), could be longer if there are more people.- Playing with 2 players can work without much issue.- Children of all ages can play this, Played this with ages ranging from 3ys-60yrs. So yeah you can play this with literally anyone.- Gameplay is enjoyable as you have a lot of options for how you want to run your party + strategy to weaken/set back other plays while trying to win yourself.- Difficulty to reach via dice rolls ( +, – ) are reasonable, and do come with risk/reward.Cons:=====- The Modifier cards can stack which can make the difficulty curve for rolls for Monsters/Challenge cards higher or lower depending on who it is targeted at. Not necessarily a too bad thing but it can get annoying real quick.- Challenge cards go hand, and hand with the above. Two players who are in a challenge roll then use their modifiers to boost or decrease the rolls is fine, but outside parties who were not apart of the initial challenge card can affect dice rolls as well as use their modifier which can be played at any time to effect rolls for other plays. This is more of a personal gripe which can be solved by using a house roll but can be annoying.- Limited characters/ Customization. I love this game, I wish to make this super duper clear, I love playing it whenever I get the chance. I do need to say that on the box + in the above product’s description it does say you can customize your own party leader card from their website – this is true. I do wish they would let you design your own party cards as well other than the party leader as I think it could give more creativity to the game and make for some good counters etc. The art and current classes/animals are all super well designed, and balanced as most have a good counter.- There is not another expansion! Jokes aside, I do wish they could come out with another expansion as there are a lot of opportunities for classes/animals to use.- Lastly as I stated in the first bullet of the ‘pros’, the In-depth rules. Holding the rules next to me as I type this I recall the first time I laid eyes on this bad boy. It opens up to be a mini-poster of rules that while in-depth in detail about how to play, it can be a lot when you first open it up fully. There is a front/back that you need to read which is fine but as I said can be a lot. During my first 2-4 games of playing, you do need to look back towards the rules when debates over how a card is to be played or to check for trivial info until it sort of clicks. That being said most games will have you doing that so that isn’t the biggest deal in my opinion. Playing with younger kids can be difficult due to the amount of rules but reciting it a few times, checking rules and you should be fine.I don’t write many reviews but I felt I just had to gush about this game, a tad biased probably due to my enjoyment but I do truly love this game. Hope these help with your decision, and hope you try out this fun card game.
