    Have made a number of recipes. All very tasty. We needed to get a few ingredients we’ve never had before to help change our diet to new eating (ie. konjac noodles, almond flour). I bought specifically as this book has a photo of each menu item and we find that helpful. The only thing I would suggest to the author/publisher is the font size is too small and light. Many diabetics are over 50 and larger fonts are better. Decided not to take a star off but if you do purchase you will need your readers handy.

    I really enjoyed reading “The 5 Ingredient Diabetic Cookbook for Beginners” by Liso Santos. As a diabetic, I am often perplexed at the numbers of my CGM. My main concern now is “dawning,” where my blood sugar spikes in the middle of my sleep period when I am not eating sugar or carbs. This book gives a straightforward, common-sense explanation of what is happening and offers solutions to many questions about diabetes. By choosing the right foods and avoiding the obvious (sugar and refined carbs), you can reduce spikes and lower A1c. Great recipes and lovely, colorful images of the finished dish are included!I highly recommend this book!!

    The author does an excellent job of reviewing the condition of diabetes, how it occurs in the human body, and how to prevent it naturally through the right food choices. For all of her recipes, she keeps them easy and quick to prepare and enjoyable to the taste with their delicious flavors. Also, on page 33, I especially like her little-known method to use before each meal that reduces the absorption of sugar or carbohydrates into the digestive system – thus reducing blood glucose spikes and easing the strain on the pancreas, which produces our insulin.You will learn the five main ingredients for each of her recipes and the recommended use of certain spices, herbs, herbs, olive oils, and seasonings to enhance the flavors of each meal of the day. In addition to this valuable cookbook, the author provides a link to free downloadable e-books about certain meals designed to help other conditions of the body.Overall, this is one of the best diabetic and natural healing cookbooks available.     The 5 Ingredients Diabetic Cookbook for Beginners is excellent. The book includes 125 delicious recipes to help with pre-diabetes and type two diabetes. The recipes include breakfasts, salads and soups, sauces and dips, vegetarian, seafood, meat and poultry and desserts. It also includes meal plans. I appreciated the hacks that were provided like using vinegar to diminish appetite. There are beautiful pictures of appetizing food. So far I have enjoyed making Shakshuka, cauliflower hash browns and almond pancakes with strawberries. I highly recommend this recipe book.

    Simple, Tasty, & Diabetic-Friendly: A Must-Have Cookbook
    This cookbook feels like a treasure trove of simple yet flavorful recipes (& trust me, I’ve tried more complicated ones that ended up tasting like cardboard). The five-ingredient approach is a lifesaver, especially when you’re juggling work, life, & a budget. I personally loved the creative recipes, like the chilled cucumber yogurt soup (so refreshing!) & the dark chocolate orange mousse (finally, a dessert I don’t feel guilty about).That said, some of the recipes seemed a bit too simple (is a lettuce wrap really a recipe?), & the meal plans, while helpful, didn’t always align perfectly with what I had in my pantry. Also, the focus on apple cider vinegar in the tips section felt repetitive (we get it, it’s a miracle worker – I take and can recommend Braggs and few excellent supplements “with the mother”). But the full-color photos & bonus eBooks (yes, five of them!) totally made up for it—they’re like extra little gifts.If you’re looking for an easy way to keep blood sugar steady while enjoying genuinely delicious food, this book is a great choice. I’ve already bookmarked recipes for the next week & can’t wait to try them (because even my picky eater of a partner gave the beef tagine a thumbs-up). It’s practical, approachable, & sprinkled with fun tidbits that make healthy eating feel less like a chore. (Will it help with blood sugar? Let’s hope so…)
