This is my first book of this author, and I had a blast!Absolutely loved it! Pacing wise, it was much better than the first one in the series. Protect had more layers and its characters felt more balanced and realistic!Rowan was the perfect mmc, if you love the boy obsessed trope, you are going to love him. He was attentive and protective, a golden retriever with a filthy mouth! Loved that the author included flashbacks from Violette and Rowan’s past to make us understand their relationship better! You could feel the pinning jumping from the page!And Violette? She was fierce! I really appreciated that the author included her struggles with grief, trauma and being a working single mom. Rowan’s interactions with Hollie were the absolute cutest! They make the cutest little family together!Another thing I really liked in this one?! The banter between the hotshots! Love me a good bromance!Overall a cute, emotional story!

OH MY!!!! Paisley you have done it again! I’m OBSESSED! 6 stars!!!! I’m so in love with these characters and this story! I cannot get enough of your worlds, your characters! Just everything!😍 Everyone needs to read this series because phew they’re addictive, they’re hot, they’re PHENOMENAL! I was hooked from the very beginning and I couldn’t put it down – not that I’m complaining 🤭 and did I tear up coming to the end? Absolutely I did.Violette has got to be one of my top FMCs ever, despite everything she’d been through, she was still such a strong and loving character. And the moments between her and Hollie made my heart melt! 🥹 Understanding Vi’s grief definitely made me very emotional – her journey dealing with this was so touching and so raw. I connected with her from the start. Seeing how she coped with her anxiety and the support system she had around her was something else! She’s such a pure character and seeing her get the happily ever after she deserves just made me swoon 🥹Rowan. Oh the man you are. He was so easy to fall in love with, he did everything with such care and love. The special moments between him and Hollie 🥹🥹 I adored those scenes so much! He would do anything for the people around him. He is definitely a golden retriever with a filthy mouth though!!! Phew! I love a firefighter .. especially this one 👀 Paisley knew what she was doing 🤭 This man knew what he wanted and he made sure he got it – and I’m obsessed with him because of it.This book has a massive chokehold on me, I didn’t want it to end. The way they both spoke to one another – the connection they had, it was so special 😭 Seeing how they dealt with the different obstacles together and also both dealing with grief. This book was hot but also the issues he raised had a massive impact. Paisley is insanely talented and can write anything. I also ADORED the found family in this book!!! I love this trope so much and it truly was such a beautiful group of characters! I will be thinking about these two for a long while and I have no complaints. Paisley Hope has done it yet again but this time she has completely changed gears and given us yet another sub genre and set of tropes, proving that she can absolutely write any man and any love story. Paisley, you never cease to amaze and I’m just so insanely proud of you!Rowan. Kingsley. This man. This story. Everything about this is utter perfection. This is the second chance, single mom, career hotshot, brothers best friend romance book that absolutely everyone needs to read. It’s swoony and spicy with just the right amount of angst and Rowan and Violette (and Hollie) will 100% have you in your feels!The characters, the plot, the writing, all of it was just so beautiful and I loved every second of it.I would 100% highly recommend this book and then go back and read Paisley’s entire backlist lol.Xo- JP.S. [...]I really struggled to get into this book. I really wanted to love it but there was just something about it. I absolutely devoured the first book and loved every minute. However, this one definitely wasn’t as good in my opinion. I really didn’t care for the fmc. I mean sure the mmc hurt her back in high school and she comes back 10 years later to hate him so much she doesn’t even give him a second to explain himself. Also, the big reveal as to what happened in high school was such a let down. So ridiculous. And this is probably just me but I could not get over the fact that she couldn’t get the age of the child correct. The first time she was 4 then a few chapters later 3 then another chapter was 3 and a half. Like seriously proof read and get it right! Overall it was ok but had it’s flaws. Not sure I’ll go onto the next book or not.

The way that she worked the emotions through trauma, reconnection, and the healing process was phenomenal.Their bond was fractured and watching them work through getting back to one another after he’s injured is tough. She literally just wanted to keep her head down after he hurt her and move on but he has so many other plans and watching him fight for his second chance was so fun.Paisley definitely wrote this book so well, i love how the stories flow and the side characters were portrayed. The timelines were easy to follow and i loved seeing glimpses of the couple from the first book. The boys friendship is heartwarming and i loved everything about it.I definitely recommend this book and the hot shots in general. It’s such a good series!Thank you paisley for the early opportunity to read this book.

Now that I’ve gotten to read Rowan’s book, let me tell you that what is inside is just as beautiful as the cover.I am not a second chance romance reader. It is my least favorite trope and I rarely make exceptions, but for this one, I am so glad I did!Rowan and Violette’s story is sweet and tender and heartbreaking and healing and it made me want to believe in fate. I adored Hollie and the connection she had with Rowan. The three of them were the sweetest little family.I do wish we got shown more of them rebuilding their connection, but overall I still felt the connection so I can’t really complain.I am reading them out of order because I only had time to receive one ARC, but I never felt like I was missing anything. It did, however, make me very anxious to get my hands on the other two books. I will be picking back up with Caleb’s story and saving Sup’s for last. I’m gonna be down so bad for him I can already tell.If you love super sweet, protective, possessive heroes this series is not going to disappoint.

I could not get enough of this book!!This series is everything! If you haven’t read it, you are missing out!!Paisley Hope has become one of my favorite authors. Her writing just captivates me. I cannot wait to read more from her.
