He’s the one I swore I’d never ever fall for.
A teammate’s betrayal. A banishment. A secret revealed.
That’s all it took to unravel my life at the seams.
The punishment for my past mistakes goes further than expulsion,
and penance can only come from the worst hell imaginable:
Summer camp.
Ten weeks spent wrangling a bunch of kids is bad enough,
only to get worse when I meet my new co-counselor.
The back-stabber himself.
Kaleb LaMothe.
Being forced to coexist adds more tension to our already shaky foundation,
but it also pushes us to uncover deeper parts of each other.
Until animosity becomes a feeling far more dangerous.
An attraction so potent, I lose sight of why I’m stuck in the wilderness to begin with.
And if I’m not careful, I might lose something else entirely.
Like my heart.
*Never Will I Ever is a new adult college romance featuring two quarreling camp counselors, grudges the size of Mount Hood, secretive outdoor rendezvous, and a group of meddling tweens sure to send you into hysterics. Not suitable for anyone under 18 years of age.*

I had been waiting for this book for 2 years. All I want to say is the wait was more than worth it.
[...]Penny Ellen (book.nerd.magic) –
Summer Fun!These two were so hot and cold.Avery and Kaleb have been a long time coming and I’m in love with both of them, CE Ricci always has me loving the villain from previous books even when they are the biggest a$$holes and Avery is not exception. The tension and yearning sucked me right in, these two have a love/hate relationship and they have to see inside the other to get past the hate.Avery has so much groth and healing to go through and he really has to earn the trust of Kaleb but he is able to show Kaleb a side of him he dosen’t let other see, including himself. Summer camp has the sense of saftey the is just what he needs to start healing.Kaleb is wears his heart on his sleeve for all to see, he can’t hide things he is feeling especially with his brothers. He is patient and caring and always checking on others and giving what they need. This story is such a fun story and not as anxiety induciing as CE Ricci’s other books, one I will definatly read again in the future.

Well these two were super hot from the get go. Did lose my mind for the first few chapters thinking…where have I read this before?? Oh yeah an anthology 💀. Ate the book up so quickly — as I do with all CE Ricci books. I loved Elijah and Avery together. So sweet. Not that this book was crazy short, but I would have liked it to be longer. More time with kaleb and brothers …with Avery and his father. Hell, even more time with Avery, kaleb and the team! I want more !! (Oh and the comment about them changing positions? 😏 But that never happened (not that it NEEDS to be on page but I was waiting for it).I loved seeing aspen and Keene in this camo setting. It worked well and I was giggling and smiling at their interactions and notes. god I love those two. I love how soft Avery became with everyone especially kaleb. And finally while I’m happy with the ending…I felt there was no conclusion with Avery? Like what’s he doing with his life? What happened there?

I’m so happy we got an Avery redemption story. I knew I was going to love him. I don’t think there’s anything I like more than a broken boy with a redemption story.
[...]Booktravert –
I enjoy a good redemption story and this slow burn really was a story of moving past trauma and youthful mistakes. This has both Avery and Kaleb growing as characters. The camp setting was quite fun and sweet. This also eventually gets to the spice and these two have plenty of chemistry. Good read.

ok
[...]This writing was good but Kaleb was hypocritical and judgmental and I could stand him. I like Avery’s growth arc tho!

excellent writing and story line
[...]First Ricci knows how to write. Second, I fell in love with both MCs quickly and rooted for this love story. You won’t be disappointed with this read. Great story telling! Easily 5 stars!

Redemption!!!
[...]This is the redemption story I’ve been waiting for!! I wasn’t sure how CE Ricci would be able to pull it off, but oh man am I thrilled with how it turned out!!!The writing was beautifully done and so profound, and the way that the story expanded to show how outside characters could be affected by actions was masterful. Such an amazing read!!

The redemption arc I didn’t even know I wanted
[...]This is a solid 4.5 star read! This book opens with Avery (one of our MCs) facing the consequences of his actions (which play out in the book ‘Don’t You Dare.’) I’ll be honest – I was never particularly interested in Avery’s backstory or any type of redemption arc for him. I was happy with him being the antagonist of a different book who got what was coming to him, and was never heard from again. But this author, she makes me care every single time.We start into a story about two characters who not only know each other and used to be both friends and teammates, but Kaleb (our other MC) was actually the person who reported Avery’s behaviors that he had to face consequences for. Now, they are both camp counselors at a summer camp with wildly different motivations, forced to spend a lot of time together as each other’s co-counselor. The forced proximity trope here worked so well – it created angry tension, then awkward tension as they worked out a friendship which turned into a bit of yearning, and then sexual tension later on in the story. What ALSO worked well was the fact that the MCs actually grew – they had apologies to make, personal conflicts to think about and work through, boundaries to create, ethical questions that they ran into for the first time, and relationships to change. While they did all these things, the author manages to somehow make them not broody jerks. Thank you for this gift, Ms. Ricci. The kids were such an unexpected surprise in this story – while obviously campers would be characters, each of the MCs built/had relationships with campers that were crucial to the characters’ growth. The kids acted as a mirror, allowing our guys to see their behaviors more clearly, in a more lighthearted way than coming from peers or adults. The kids also pushed their growth, in sort of unanticipated ways. Kaleb has a relationship with a camper that changes significantly, and he has to make intentional choices about how to move forward, knowing he might hurt someone. Avery develops a relationship with a camper that he lets down in a big way, and he has to deal with the impact. I just…never thought this college age MM romance would sort of be a kid story, but it was very well done. It was different for the genre and this universe, and from this author (I believe, correct me if I’m wrong!)The part that didn’t surprise me is how much I loved the romantic relationship between these two, because CE Ricci is such a master at emotion, angst and spice – which are the things I really want in a romance story, truly. This book was interesting because she hit us with an emotional beginning and ending. There is some conflict that happens, within the romantic relationship but I thought it was SO well done. It was in character, it wasn’t overly dramatized or made a huge deal out of a fixable problem, but an actual conflict, and I surprised myself by getting a little emotional about it. (Note: I am NOT a fan of a third act breakup and can be incredibly critical about this) The spice is also….excellent. There are a couple of specific scenes that I think will stick with me for a long time. She’s just so good at it y’all. It’s detailed without being too much, creative without being unrealistic, and she balances the urgency and emotionality really well.I loved this one and I can see it joining the list of CE Ricci comfort reads that revisit over and over. Highly recommend, especially if you’ve read ‘Don’t You Dare’ first for the context.

my fave CE Ricci book yet
[...]I love a good redemption story. It brings so much depths to the characters and who they are and why they do things. And the storyline itself was a great balance…BUT what did Avery end up doing about college and life? My only question mark and it’s bugging me

a great story about love and redemption
[...]kaleb & avery are here!“𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘴, 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺, 𝘪𝘵’𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘦.”“𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘵.”i have been dying to read avery and kaleb’s story, and let me tell you it did not disappoint!! ce ricci has a way of making the most irredeemable characters worthy of redemption. that redemption never comes easy, kaleb makes avery earn it, as he should. these two unexpectedly are forced to spend their summer together when they are both working at the same camp, much to kaleb’s dismay. it doesn’t take long for them to realize that even though they were once good friends and teammates, there’s a lot they don’t know about each other. what better time to rediscover each other than when they are stuck at camp together? their banter is top tier as the tread the line between love and hate!i loved avery’s character development throughout. getting to see what’s going on in his head and how he’s trying to change his perspective on things and actively working on being a better person is everything. i also loved seeing how his dynamic progressed with the campers, especially elijah with their bond, and how they changed him for the better. while avery is rediscovering himself and the person he wants to be, kaleb gets a front row seat to see how people really can change. i love that kaleb never shied away from telling avery how he felt about his behavior, but he was also willing to allow avery to prove he has grown and changed. these two did not have an easy path, but it was worth it.if you like friends to enemies to lovers, secret relationships, and forced proximity, then this one is for you!

just lovely
[...]this ended up being way less angsty then i was expecting but honestly i’m not mad at it because everything was just so heartwarming like i loved seeing Avery find his safe place in Kaleb and all the kid at camp made a great supporting castPlus the ending just wraps everything up so beautifully and leaves you satisfied, there is not a single thing about this that was lacking imojust great!
