The book is easy to read and is well written. The history and mythology are broken into 4 books. The history is very interesting. The artwork is a nice touch. I enjoyed the attention to detail but at a level that anyone could read. Recommended for anyone wanting to learn about interesting stories of Mesopotamian history.

Interesting and very informative
[...]The Mesopotamian Civilizations and Empires is not an area of history I had really studied in my depth previously. I have recently become more aware of the Assyrians. This series of books has been a great starting point to getting to know the Mesopotamian history. I’m not sure I would at this time choose to delve deeper into these civilisations but it this book has given me wonderful new knowledge on people I new very little about.

Not your normal textbook
[...]I did not like that this book is simply a collection of facts & figures. There is no text to read & then the answer the questions in a multiple choice format.Apparently, lots of folks are good with this format of “here are the answers,” now you figure out the correct response. I admit my prejudice since I never studied this time period except for brief study in the biblical era. I do not recommend this book except as a study guide for students of Mesopotamia.
