rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️feelings: 🥰🥵😍🫠🤣Ian is such a delightful brat. The way he tears down Henry’s walls is very spicy! I’ve never read a “daddy” book with a dynamic like this one. I love it!

quick spicy with a little splash of humour and emotionA good read for some spicy mm romance, will definitely give the authors other books a read.

3.75 ⭐️It was a fast read only 99 pages ( yes I know it was a short story ) so that doesn’t leave much room for character building in a way a longer book would but I enjoyed it. I do love this trope in a book but never in real life lol maybe it’s because my kids at pretty much adults now I could never imagine dating someone their age. I love that the sons best friend is a bratty top. I feel like this isn’t written in books enough. If you want a quick Steamy read you got it in this book!

Light Me Up is a sizzling short novella. This steamy age-gap son’s best friend MM romance delivers fiery personalities and irresistible spice that will leave you breathless and craving more. Get ready to sweat this one burns hot.

I’m fairly new to Rebecca Rathe and I adore everything I’ve read by her so far, she gives characters depth and feeling, and expresses emotions in her writing that you just do not get in many romance novels. I was really intrigued as to how a novella would be and this did not disappoint. In just 100 pages our mmcs went from grumpy sunshine to love with lots of spice along the way. The fact it’s between a father and his sons best friend isn’t skirted over but the ending is very satisfying and sweet. Ian is a great character and I’d have loved to read even more about him. His sass and cheek charms his best friends grumpy dad and even after they are “discovered” his nature helps pave the way to happiness.

Light Me Up
[...]Henry and IanWhen the title says short and spicy, it meant it. Holy smokes, was it hot in here 🥵? This was so freaking good! I could have kept reading on with these two. I would love to read more of them in the future. And the art at the end! Perfect!

“He lights me up.”
[...]This was a very spicy and short novella about Ian and his best friends dad, Henry. When Ian moves in, Henry can’t stand him. He’s messy and he’s everywhere and he stirs these feelings that Henry can’t understand. But Ian is also super self assured and has no problem coming into Henry, helping him discover he’s not as straight as he thought.this author‘s books are always super spicy and if you’re looking for a quick read with a lot of spice and some great art, this is the one for you. It has a daddy kink in a surprising way and I really appreciated that because I don’t think you see it very often. Really enjoyed this one!

Spicy!
[...]Whoa that was hot!! This was a quick, spicy read. Ian has the hots for his best friend’s dad. And when he gets to spend the summer with his bud Micheal and his sexy dad Henry, he jumps at the chance. Henry can’t keep his eyes off of Ian. He thinks he is too pretty and too much. But when he finally succumbs to the lustful thoughts he’s been having about him. . . oh daddy. These two were on fire. This was my first Rebecca Rathe book and definitely won’t be my last.

Grumpy/Brat a fun combo
[...]4.5⭐️ 3.5🌶For a novella, this was perfect. There is enough substance and back story to fall in love and understand this couple. Wishing for their happily ever after was easy. Was this book hot? Yes, and I loved that the author shows the care for prep needed. And I loved every bit of spice. This author writes amazing smex scenes, but I have to say the hallway scene at the beginning of the book is what sticks out the most. My jaw dropped so hard I couldn’t believe it. The audacity!!!

Ian and Henry!
[...]This was such a quick and easy read that kept you interested but at the same time It didn’t leave out anything on the spice. Just because it was quick and easy does not mean the spice was quick and easy because that packed a punch for sure.Ian and Henry were super cute together and I really loved that Ian never changed who he was from the very beginning from the first time he met Henry all those years ago. Even though Ian annoyed Henry sometimes it was more in the sense of Henry didn’t know why it was annoying to him but he eventually figures it out It becomes one of the things that Henry loves most about Ian.

Too hot and awesome
[...]I love absolutely everything she writes. This was as spicy as sweet as you come to expect from her. I loved Ian. I love the best friends dad trope and so rarely get to see it. And the older bottom was sexy too. 🥵

Light Me Up is a quick, hot read
[...]Rebecca is an auto buy for me. I haven’t read anything from her that I haven’t loved.I loved that Henry, the older of the two, didn’t question his sudden interest in the much younger Ian and that he was willing to let Ian take control. With a book this short, there isn’t a lot of plot, but it was well written, and super hot!

Made me smile
[...]This was my first time reading this author and I might already be hooked. Sometimes “shorts” can be too short. They skimp on the little details that really make story and can feel rushed. This one wasn’t like that at all. I completely loved the MCs, Ian and Henry, and I felt like the author was able to really develop them, even in such a short space. The “opposites attract” trope was very well done and the pacing of the plot perfect. Also, the steam was definitely steamy and I was fully invested in seeing Henry and Ian get their HEA. I can definitely recommend this for a sassy but spicy read and I’m looking forward to reading more of the author’s works.
