All in all, Krai had a pretty good vacation.

But with the Gathering of the White Blade over, it’s time for him to return home. Passing through its gates for the first time in a month, he finds the imperial capital looking like it had been carpet-bombed. Apparently, a battle had broken out between Hidden Curse and the remnants of Akashic Tower while he was away.

Krai learns the wanton destruction has caused the Gathering of the White Blade to be put on hold for the first time in its long history and he’s arrived just in time to attend. Unable to run away a second time, he has no choice but to face that hellish party of pompous nobles and freakish hunters.

But that turns out to be the least of his concerns and the Thousand Tricks finds himself with a quest issued by the emperor himself. Normally, he’d want nothing to do with this, but he’s unable to say no when he sees the payment being offered—a rare Relic from the imperial family’s collection.

    Great story
Great light hearted story with lots of comical moments. It’s a ridiculous novel that often makes little sense, but I couldn’t put it down once I started. The translation is also super well done with some memorable one liners.

Probably my most favorite of the series
Beautifully ended story, I can’t wait for more. This bumbling hero story reaches new heights in this one, and not a single person is spared confusion

    The tail
Spoilers I guess. Book was fun as always. The stupidity and originality of this series is great.ButWhyd he have to throw the tail away man?

As Always: The Best of the Best
Absolutely fantastic. I find this writer stands upon the pinnacle of his niché. It is INCREDIBLY rare for writers to keep a story based entirely on a single trope not just entertaining, but engrossing! Most either end the story quickly, or stretch it out to the point it becomes stale. This series and “I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire” are the only 2 stories I can think of that have managed it… maybe mastered is a better term?5☆!
