I have a car that I don’t use very often, but have a problem that there is a small drain on the battery when it is parked up. A battery isolator serves the purpose of preserving the battery during this time, (the car alarm is the problem with the constant drain). My car has the battery in the boot, and the boot latch is electrically operated, so I can’t get to the battery to turn on the isolator, or the boot won’t latch with the battery isolated. this device defeats the “catch 22” situation, as it can be switched on and off by remote control!I’ve had to mount it up side down so the local controls can’t be reached, because of the way the conducting tags are arranged. A spare nut is supplied, which I have used as a spacer, along with the spring washer, this allows the switch to sit on top of the battery, whilst the input connector reaches the recessed battery post. There is room above the battery on my car for the output post and cable to be on top.Now that it is installed, I can connect and disconnect the battery at the touch of the remote control button!I am pleased with this product.

Great product that works too well
[...]After installing I was VERY satisfied with this product…basically adding a keyless entry to my 1985 Mercedes (that has parasitic draw). My car threw an alternator belt without my knowing, and the switch automatically cut my power WHILE DRIVING because the volts were reading too low. I assume this is some feature built in. Great it saved my battery, but terrifying to lose power in the middle of traffic. I would have prefer some sort of sensor if the car is running, then power remains constant. Aside from that, works great.

Used as a fix for a parasitic draw
[...]I’ve had this for about a year as a band-aid fix for a parasitic draw on my LS swapped RX7. I haven’t been able to track down the issue yet and my battery would die after about a week if I didn’t drive it enough. After using this for a year and turning the battery off every time I’m done using it my battery has stayed full and have had no issues. It’s slightly more expensive then some other alternatives but it was been extremely convenient and worked as advertised with no issues. With my battery being relocated and covered in the trunk it has saved me a great deal of time. Be warned though some settings like your radio stations and other things may not save and be reset using it this way.

Works but fitment is awful and not theft proof at all
[...]It works, it’s installed but here’s my critique: A thief will open the hood noticing a dead battery and push the “On” button. This should be be a feature. I understand it is a fail safe, however relays are very ancient tech and are reliable for over a decade. No need for a manual “ON” button. The fitment was awful. My battery tie down, and the cell caps were in the way. I had to finagle things inappropriately out of the way to get it to fit. I also had to flip my Negative terminal as the post provided is too narrow. This box should simply be put on leads that would allow you to hide it anywhere in the vehicle. Something I may do anyway. With leads you could easily attach it to your fuel pump, ignition, ECU etc.. seems a very missed opportunity here. Overall would not buy or recommend for security, only for battery drain.

I was warming up my car and the motor keep cutting off no power in my car waited it turns on I take it for a spin around the block and the car died in the middle of traffic. This thing is perfect.

I liked this so much that not only is this the first review I’m writing on Amazon but I bought one to go on my mother in law’s backup car too. Working perfectly for a year
[...]Why does everyone not have one of these? Easy install at the battery. Fob added to the keychain. This device isolates the battery preventing any drain and preventing unauthorized startup. Should be used by all the folks that have these car models that are getting stolen. Now, when you isolate the battery everything stops working, like your remote door unlocker, the car radio, etc. Just be warned about that. I have a car that needs juice to the clock, so the clock is no longer set right. But that is a small price to pay. Excellent product.

Saves opening the hood
[...]I’ve got an older Jeep that has a phantom electrical draw that I cannot find. When I saw this listing, I immediately bought it and installed the switch. It does a great job, and was easy to install, after thinking about where there wires were going to go for a minute. The remote works from quite a ways away. Seems pretty durable, and it’s small enough to fit under my hood. I’m happy with the purchase, seems like a decent value.
