It’s every musician’s nightmare: You’re on stage. You’re performing. But then something goes terribly wrong and your tablet — which you’re using to perform — suddenly crashes to the floor and its screen splinters into a million little glass pieces. It’s enough to give anyone a heart attack. Now you can alleviate your fears and perform with confidence thanks to IK’s new iKlip Xpand. It’s an adjustable tablet holder that uses four expandable grips that can hold most large tablet sizes securely. Its rubberized “Gorilla Grip” technology holds your iPad or tablet on a microphone stand, and its ball joint design allows for infinite adjustment so you’ll always have an optimal viewing angle.
iKlip Xpand features several breakthrough technologies that allow it to hold virtually any tablet with a screen size from 7″ to 12.1″. You can even use it without removing the protective case of many of your favorite devices. First, iKlip Xpand features a patented expandable holding bracket that utilizes an expansion “memory” bracket which allows you to quickly and easily mount an iPad — or similarly sized tablets — to a microphone stand. Its rubberized “Gorilla Grip” backing ensures a firm grip of the device that neither scratches nor mars your tablet’s surface. Its ball joint global positioning system lets you precisely position your device at any angle for optimum viewing in both landscape and portrait modes.
UNIVERSAL FLEXIBLE MOUNT: Add some extra grip to your microphone holder with the universal expandable clip. This versatile tablet stand mount allows you to use your microphone with ease. This tablet microphone stand mount provides a firm grip that you can open when needed and collapse for easy storage.
DESIGNED FOR: High quality, portable, and easy-to-use tablet holder stand mount specially designed for iPad and Android tablet. Now, no more hauling a heavy frame to rehearsals or gigs anymore. This mic stand tablet holder can safely position your device at the optimal shooting angle.
IDEAL TOOL THAT FITS WITH EASE: The universal expandable microphone stand mount has universal compatibility and can hold all popular tablet with screen sizes from 6” to 8.7” wide or high. The adjustable clamp mounts to poles with a diameter of 1.2″.
CLAMP THAT ADJUST TO ALL DEVICES SECURELY: This is a professional grade adjustable ipad stand designed for the ultimate versatility and functionality. This mic stand ipad holder features a smart bracket that doesn’t block controls and ports of your devices, so you can receive calls, handle videos, and run apps on your tablet while it’s standing.

As expected works really well

Sturdy iPad holder
[...]Very sturdy and pretty good versatility and viewing angle adjustment. It works fine on my older iPad Gen 2 in it’s OtterBox case, as well as with my new iPad Gen 6 in it’s OtterBox case two. It fails to hold my iPad mini in its Pelican case – apparently is to “deep” not allowing the four “grippers” or “claws” sufficient contact to the tablets edges to securely hold it, and it falls out. The four gripping tabs with their soft/pliable ” liner pads” need to be longer to accommodate the deeper protective cases out there on the market being used. The two internal springs that pull the two “claw” ends together also could be stronger, providing a more secure grip on the heavier tablets held when in their protective cases.

Phone Clamp
[...]I have used this for years to take videos or to read lyrics from captured screenshots when I sing. Good quality product.

Not perfect, but very good.
[...]Holds my iPad3 well, allowing me to mix from stage (as much as that’s possible). I chose this clip partially because it could work with an iPad that’s in a case. With an fake Otterbox type case (“Hot Newest Ipad 2/3/4 Case”), the grabby clips aren’t quite long enough to hold it securely (the back of the iPad case is too thick). So I’ll either take it out of its case for those times when I need to mix from stage, or maybe buy a second case that’s thinner. An iPad2 (which is thicker) in a real Otterbox case also didn’t fit securely. Maybe an iPad Air would be better. The iKlip definitely requires two hands to put the iPad in or take it out, as there is a good amount of tension on the springs. It will grip an iPad along the two long edges (it doesn’t open far enough to reach the other way), but you can then rotate the clip for either portrait or landscape use. The plastic feels like good quality stuff that will last as long as you don’t over-tighten it.Wish list:1. Adjustable tension2. Slightly curved back (instead of flat), and/or longer clips to allow it to work with a thicker iPad case.

Holds iPad Pro10.5” to drum kit
[...]Using this for iPad Pro 10.5” mounted to cymbal stand for drum practice. So it’s going to take some vibrations; played for months and it doesn’t shake down the pole and firmly holds the iPad.Was previously using a sheet music stand and needed an actual iPad holder for practice. Although made of plastic, very well built. Doesn’t feel too cheap and does the job. Had this been made with more “heft” (i.e. add some metal) it would have gotten 5-stars. Would still buy again and recommend to any drummer or musician needing an iPad holder for practice or gigging.

Great design, wish had quick release
[...]I’d been looking for an iPad mini holder so that I can watch TV and read while recovering from a hip replacement. After much research, and buying another product at the same time I got this one, I can report that this one works great! It’s easy to use, holds the device tightly, and rotates as needed. The only wish I have is that there could be a quick release knob so that I can get the iPad mini out quickly — it’s a bit tight as is and all of the surfaces are smooth and hard to push/pull.I’ll report more later as I use it in the hospital and at home while recovering.UPDATE: As I’m using it I’m finding that the tiny rubber pads which protect my device as it’s clamped are occasionally falling out. Because I know that at some point they will get lost and be difficult to replace, I’m going to try to epoxy them in place. They are really small.

They work great and very durable as designed.
[...]As an active musician, I need to make my job as easy as possible when it comes to the tools I need to perform. One way of doing this is to concentrate several items into one. As can be seen in the photo, I am currently using three IK Multimedia iKlip holders. The small iKlip, designed for cell phones, located at the bottom, is great for what it’s designed to do, but does not open quite wide enough for my Line 6 wireless instrument transmitter. Therefore I had to alter it slightly for the transmitter to fit. The standard iKlip is great for my I-pad Mini on the top which I use to control my auxiliary sound inputs, but is a bit too wide at its closed point for the Rolls 351 D.I. box in the center, forcing me to use additional blocks to help hold the D.I. box in place. My thought: IK Multimedia needs an iKlip that works in-between these two sizes. I realize product demand determines product availability, so this explanation is just a thought being offered for future consideration. And, in case you’re wondering why the exposed pole at the very top is not being used, its because it is reserved for your newest iKlip holder for either an I-Pad Pro or a Microsoft Surface that will store by category and display, as needed, all my music lead sheets. In conclusion, I know there are other holders available from other manufacturers, but in my humble opinion, the IK Multimedia iKlips are the best. Two thumbs up!
