Looks good on the outside but . . .
[...]I picked up this cover for my new Kindle Fire 8. I like the design on the outside. My kindle fits into the silicone base securely. However, it has to go in upside down since the camera hole is at the bottom. The other openings are reversed as well. The kindle turns on/off when open and close the cover. While I like the outside appearance, I do not like using it backwards. The cover has three angles for viewing horizontally. I wish the cover stayed closed on its own (flaps open). This cover is not for me.

[...]The slot for the camera is at the bottom, instead of the top. This means you put the Fire in this case and the power button and all the others are in the opposite place they’re supposed to be.Forget this tablet case.

Snug fitting case for Kindle Fire 8, but front cover can flop open
[...]Fits my new Kindle Fire 8 snugly. Camera hole is properly aligned.Case is slightly padded, so it should provide some protection if dropped. I did not test this!It has three different angles for propping up the tablet in landscape mode.The biggest disadvantage – the front cover does not have magnets or Velcro to keep it in place. Use caution if you’re placing this in a suitcase or backpack where the front cover can open up and leave the screen exposed.

Flawed Tablet Design. Not the case’s fault.
[...]The other reviews are correct that the case seems backwards or upside down. A lot of the Fire HD 8 cases on Amazon are the same way because it puts the speakers on top of the tablet in landscape. I THINK THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE TABLET, by Amazon. No matter how the case is designed, you’ll either get the camera at the bottom (which is weird) or the speakers covered while streaming.That being said, I really love this case. It’s sleek and beautiful. My ONLY complaint is that it does not have the magnetic closure. Still a 5 star find for me.
