How do you go from blind date to shotgun wedding in a single afternoon?
You catch the eye of a man like Maximo Leonotti, that’s how.
It’s not like he had to force me. I was hooked on the stormy-eyed stranger from the moment we met… right up until I felt the pinch in my arm.
The next thing I know, I’m waking up on his private jet, halfway to Las Vegas. Apparently, for an impromptu wedding. Our wedding.
That’s when the panic sets in. This can’t be happening. I’m Elira Përmeti, daughter of Afrim, leader of the Albanian mafia. If I go missing, all hell will break loose.
But when I tell Maximo, he just smiles. Turns out, he already knows all of my secrets, and now it’s time I hear one of his:
My father owes him a debt, and I’m the payment.
Devil’s Lily is a standalone, dual pov dark mafia romance featuring a possessive, ‘touch her & I’ll unalive you’ type anti-hero and a feisty, smart heroine. No OW drama, no cliffhanger, and a hard-won HEA.

It started out so well and then it just got worse and worse. Would not recommend this author to anyone, since she’s careless regarding her readers and writes dumb and spineless female leads.Spoilers ⚠️Stuff like that makes a book an automatic 1 star rating for me. As an author you have a responsibility to warn your readers. He forces her into a marriage a then r@pes her to make it binding. Of course she says she hates him and she doesn’t want to give him her virginity, but there’s obviously still some body betrayal. Him threatening her and her family doesn’t stop her from panting after him. The FMC is weak and acts like a little child. Not like a 21 year old woman. There’s lots of spelling and grammar mistakes as well as some inconsistencies. Like the blurb and the book content differ.

I love a good mafia romance and this is definitely one of the more decent ones when it comes to following a plot where FMC isn’t helpless and can defend/stick up for herself . I personally loved the vibe between them both and the fact that elira was actually interested in maximo from the first meeting and wasn’t just kidnapped without that anonymous interaction first really helped the development. Also, Maximo falling head over heals for her so fast it gave me whiplash lol, but he is surprisingly sweet! Overall, loved the characters, amazing world building and I can’t wait to read all 4 of the boys books ♡

It actually started really good, and I liked the MMC, but after he r@ped her … No… I couldn’t like him anymore ..normally I like consensual non consent, but that was really just SA/ or just not well written

I loved this story! It has everything in it you could possibly ask for! She has been locked in a gilded cage for most of her life but is finally freed on her 21st birthday. She just wants to experience the world that she has been kept from. Little does she know that she walks into a rival’s restaurant and everything changes. Hot read.

Devil’s Lily
[...]This is my first book by both Roselyn Ash and Sasha Leone and I really enjoyed it. I’m a huge fan of forced marriage and it fits so well in mafia, which I really love. I thoroughly enjoyed both Maximo and Elira and felt like both characters fit really well together.I’m freaking excited for Raphael and Emily’s book. Definitely recommend if you’re a huge fan of mafia.

Good
[...]Such a fantastic read. Really enjoyed this book. All the different characters are great. Cannot wait to read more books about all the guy’s different personalities. I cannot believe that ending.

ELIRA AND MAXIMO
[...]Devil’s Lily is book 1 in the Nightshades series is Elira and Maximo’s steamy story. This story is a fantastic, intense, rival families journey that pulls readers in and holds them captive until the very end. Elira is the innocent and Maximo is the sexy, domineering, possessive big bad wolf. Elira is completely taken from the start and so is Max but they have no idea who each other really is. Families hating each other makes their journey to learning each other definitely a challenge but they seem to rise to the challenge beautifully. Elira is something else. She gives Max (and her family) a pretty decent run for their money for her having been as sheltered as she’s been. I completely enjoyed their story and look forward to book 2.

The moment she waltzes into my restaurant, time grinds to a halt.
[...]Pleasantly surprised. There were a few typos, but nothing that took me out of the story. I enjoyed the chemistry between Elira and Maximo. The spice was 3/5. My only issue with the book is that little details got lost, and it felt like everyone wasn’t really paying as much attention as they should have been. But all in all I’m glad I read this. Im excited for the next book.

dnf on principle
[...]It was very cute and had a good tone. I never knew how pretty albanian names are. But like……… I got so annoyed bc it seemed no one in her life had brain cells. They just let it happen. If there was any brain cell, they never would have met. I got to 20% but it just kept bothering me, and then further brain cell-less actions from girly, and I just couldn’t go on. I read weird stuff and can suspend reality often, but I just couldn’t get over it…

TikTok made me do it again 🤷🏻♀️
[...]Before I wrote my review and took a peak at the others and I’m wondering if we read the same book (?) 😅Buut for all the bad reviews, here goes mine (briefly): I absolutely love it BUT I can confirm I was lost in a couple of scenes – so I kind of want to read the rest of the series asap although I know I have to be patient 😒For someone who’s not exactly a fan of insta love, this was a pretty good one and I was all over it. Like go ahead READ it (also, full disclosure if I’d read the reviews BEFORE I tried to read this one I wouldn’t have done it, so I’m glad that I didn’t) – another quick read that would make you happy (if like what I like lol)PS: Before I forget the blur is a bit misleading…. K bye

Good read
[...]For the most part I enjoyed this book. Did not like how the birth control was handled. I personally like books with a baby surprise. The epilogue was not good and the bonus epilogue was only about the next book. Not sure if I am going to continue the series.

Binge-worthy!
[...]First, I benefitted from another reviewer’s recommendation to read Wicked Mistletoe prior to this book, and I’m glad I did. Although waiting to read it after this book might give you a completely different reading experience. Either way, it should be read as it gives a whole lot of backstory, and thus depth and understanding of the actions of one of the characters at the end. This was a fantastic, fast-paced read. Poor Elira, though. She really gets put through the wringer. She is a very sheltered and naive 21 yr old, and as 21 year olds are bound to do, she makes some choices with no regard for the consequences, or just willing to accept the consequences. (I remember making those decisions a time or two. 😉) However, in Elira’s world, the consequences are often so steep—as she experienced in her life with her mother—it seemed a little surprising that she would make the choices she did. Regardless, her actions lead her to capture the attention of Maximo, and well, her future now belongs to him.I enjoyed Maximo as a MMC. He has all the traits of a good alpha. He knew which boundaries to push and which not to cross. He was a good match for Elira. However, I didn’t feel like I really got to know him. His character lacked the depth that Elira’s did. That being said, it didn’t take away from the story one bit. It’s really only upon reflection to write this review did the thought occur to me.Overall, this was a fast-paced story that I didn’t want to put down. I can’t wait for the next book!
