I was watching a video and someone was using a similar item and I thought how impractical it was. I noticed many positive comments about this Dash rapid egg cooker though and I guess I was influenced. I was not expecting it to exceed my expectations. It’s tiny and barely takes up any space on my counter, it’s a pretty shade of blue (even though my appliances are pink) and it was a fantastic price. I honestly wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I do, in fact I was sure I wasn’t going to find it useful, but I was so wrong.I’ve used it to poach eggs, hard and soft boil eggs and I have made many 2 egg omelettes. The only issue I had was that the poaching function needed a few more minutes because the whites were runny. I just added more water so it would steam longer and that worked perfectly. This little appliance is a workhorse. I haven’t had any eggs sticking in the pans because I always spray with oil then wipe the excess off. This cooks eggs quickly and when they’re done, it shuts off and will chimes pleasantly to let you know it’s finished. I have several chronic illnesses/autoimmune disorders and some days find cooking a chore and on those days I beat 2 eggs together with chopped onion and herbs and put in 2 slices of bread in the toaster. I’ll use the omelette function and by the time my toast is ready, my omelette is cooked. I just put it between the toast and have a nice toasted sandwich. It’s so versatile and I’m still gobsmacked at how effectively it cooks eggs. I really thought this was going to be a waste of time and money but it’s my go-to now for cooking eggs. I still use my regular pans for elaborate egg dishes, but this is perfect for a quick bite and to prepare up to 7 eggs for later use.I’m more than happy with this. This is tied with my bread maker as my favourite Amazon purchase this year!I can see this being perfect to use in dorms or in an office kitchen.

    Worth Every Penny!
Not that this is a “high ticket item” by any means, but sometimes you wonder if a kitchen gadget is really worth the price. Now that I’ve been using this egg cooker for a few weeks, I can attest that the price paid for this kitchen gadget was money well spent.First off, I have a severe egg allergy and the smell of eggs can throw me into anaphylaxis. But I also have a diabetic, but very picky, Yorkshire Terrier who needs to eat more protein. Her vet recommended I add hard boiled eggs to her prescription dog food, which I have done and it’s yielding great results. But the process of cooking them on the stove has been problematic for me.That’s why this egg cooker is so fantastic. The eggs cook in a shorter time in its own steam chamber so the smell is contained. There’s still a slight egg smell in the air after retrieving the eggs, but it dissipates quickly.I haven’t tried making other egg variations, but my spouse raves about the omelette function. He’s been using it for his morning breakfast and he loves the versatility, the fast cooking function, and he says it makes the fluffiest, hottest, tastiest omelettes in mere minutes. My little doggy loves it, my husband loves it, and I love not having to wash an egg coated pot or pan. Many kitchen gadgets are questionable regarding overall necessity, durability, and value, but this is one you don’t want to skip.

    Food Good, Clean-up Great
Another satisfied customer. I have so far done medium eggs, which came out perfectly as described in the instructions, and I did an omelet today; I used three eggs, because that’s how I roll, and I found that the amount of water indicated was not sufficient to complete the cook. I added the same amount again and the omelet was steamed to satisfaction. Maybe the instructions say the omelet should only be 1 or 2 eggs, if so that’s on me. For me the egg piercer works fine. I was worried it might deposit specks of shell into the interior, but if so, these escaped my notice when I ate the boiled eggs. And, again following their instructions about cold water, these were among the easiest-to-peel eggs I have encountered.Where the product shines, though, is clean up, which is super simple, easy and quick. I will eat eggs more often because of this product. Damn the cost of eggs, I will have my omelet!

This Little Machine Is So Good!!!!
This little machine is so good, it is small and so easy to store which is what I wanted. For years I laughed at friends who had the older kind that just made hard boiled eggs but then I saw this one on Amazon and it does omelets, scrambled gigs, poached eggs, and hard-boiled eggs….it is so darn cute I laugh every time I take it out of its box to use it. It comes with a clear little booklet and points out clearly which part is what….please be sure to follow this carefully when putting water in because it is important…it goes in different places based on what you are making…..it takes not much time at all, and a really nice and soft chime like a soft bell sounds til you shut it off at the power button…I look forward to it when it chimes…..just yesterday I got brave and made four hard-boiled eggs for the first time in it, and worried it might blow off the top…oh and I never lock the top….but of course I worried for nothing and when it chimed, I carefully placed the eggs in cold water to stop them cooking, and after they were cool enough, I carefully took the shell off one of them and boy was that a nice hard-boiled egg with a nicely cooked yolk….delicious and perfect. This little machine just makes you smile at it…so cute, so little, and it does so much!

    READ & FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
If you read (and follow) the instructions you’ll have the best experience with the Dash Rapid Egg Cooker. I received it, read the instruction booklet, unpacked it, washed the washable parts, watched Dash’s little “how to” videos and quickly made 2 poached eggs. They were perfect! Not too runny, not at all hard and moist & delicious as well.I quickly prepared 7 eggs for hard cooking by poking the wide end of the egg with the provided tool, adding the correct amount of water and putting the cover on the cooker. I got 7 perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs. While I was learning how to use the tool to poke holes in the eggs I was being overly cautious and managed to break 2 eggs by squeezing too hard and breaking the shell of one — in multiple places — with my fingers. I broke a 2nd one by pushing the tool almost sideways making a bigger hole with a small crack in it. I chalked those 2 up to experience and set them aside. I then cooked 7 intact eggs in the cooker. They came out perfect and unexpectedly easy to peel.I’ve never been able to boil any number of eggs without a few cracking badly so losing 2 to the learning experience still left me ahead in the hard cooking eggs game. After making the first 7 eggs, I decided to “see what would happen” if I cooked the 2 broken eggs in the egg cooker even though they were badly broken. Please note that the first egg was essentially crushed with a little bit of egg white oozing out between the broken pieces of egg shell. The other egg was slightly cracked with a larger than necessary square hole in it. I assumed that both wood ooze out quite a bit of egg into the cooker. I added the appropriate amount of water, crossed my fingers and turned it on. The egg timer went off and I opened the cooker. Both eggs appeared to be intact with no leakage whatsoever. A big surprise. I cooled and peeled both eggs and they were absolutely intact and tasted great. The broken one was misshapen looking in the shell but once the shell was (easily) removed it looked fine, only slightly lumpy at the top of the egg – the part that is usually flat in hard boiled eggs. Even though some of the egg white had oozed out of the cracks in the shell, the egg itself, the egg looked fine. It would have been fine for most uses unless you were looking for a perfect shape for deviled eggs for example. Boiling an egg generally leaves a flat spot on the broad end of the egg, so normally that perfect shape just doesn’t happen. So, my first 3 attempts using this egg cooker far exceeded my expectations and the Dash Rapid Egg Cooker is definitely a keeper for me.BTW: Reading and following the instructions is, in my opinion, essential to successfully using this cooker.Viewing the video that is included in the product listing is also very helpful: it gives a good idea of what to expect and you can observe what it looks like to use the cooker successfully.I learned from watching the video that using the needle provided to poke a hole in the larger end of the egg helps to prevent the eggs from cracking, makes the shells much easier to peel and allows the wider end of the egg to expand to fill the rounded shape of the shell giving a perfect egg shape on both ends for much better looking eggs for any dish where the shape of the whole egg is visible such as for deviled eggs. The video also explains why the provided measuring cup indicates that LESS water is used for MORE eggs being cooked which is counterintuitive. A number of reviewers have commented on this seeming mis-measurement; assuming the cup was incorrectly markedI can’t recall ever being this pleased with an online purchase and I will be using Dash’s Rapid Egg Cooker regularly.
