[...]I was anticipating learning about a topic foreign to my experiences. I must confess that I struggled with this book and was only able to endure 70% of it. The author has done a commendable job researching the topic. However, the information could have been presented in a more interesting format. For example, an historical index broken out regionally would assist the reader. With the wide swath of Brazilian cultures, perhaps concentrating on one region at a time would result in less confusion and better understanding.Again, I commend the author on this comprehensive review.
