I’ve just bought my car and it doesn’t have any reverse aid’s at allAnd I’m rubbish at parking so I figured the expense of this camera is way less than backing in to something, I also didn’t want the hassle of drilling holes and running wire’s from rear of car to front. This wireless camera is absolutely brilliant it’s a doddle to fit it took me longer to get a seized no plate screw out than the whole time to fit . It connected straight away to monitor and it’s a very clear image I opted for two Chanel model as I will be fitting a front camera when it’s available. I had a question for customers service and a few emails back and forth between us they were brilliant and very very helpful and and resolved my problem . I can 100° recommend both the camera and customer service department.

Super Sache, freue mich immer wieder.

I can’t say enough good things about the AUTO-VOX Solar Wireless Backup Camera! It’s been a game-changer for my driving experience. Installation was a breeze; just a few minutes with a screwdriver, and no complicated wiring. The solar charging feature is a huge plus. I haven’t had to recharge it manually once yet.The camera provides a crystal-clear image day and night, which makes reversing so much easier and safer. I just wish the 5-inch monitor was a bit bigger. Sometimes I find myself squinting to see the details, especially on bright days. A slightly larger screen would make this product absolutely perfect!Overall, I’m thrilled with this purchase. It’s reliable, efficient, and the peace of mind it brings is priceless. Highly recommend for anyone needing a backup camera system that just works.

Good camera under any light conditions and reliable wireless connection
Installation is easy; a few minutes. The camera bracket mounted to my truck’s license plate bracket, and the 70 degree range of up/down camera adjustment was way more than enough to get proper position. The CMOS sensor image is sharp and contrast is good, even in very bright or dim lighting conditions. The monitor is visible even in bright sunlight.I’ve had problem with other wireless backup cameras, where they frequently dropped connection between camera and monitor. The truck has an extended cab and 8′ box. I had no such problems with the Auto Vox.My truck is an older 1500 Silverado, so the 12v DC outlets are always powered. So I pull the Auto Vox power connector when the truck is not in use. The camera displays automatically when the monitor is powered. Mine is set to auto off in 90 seconds, which seems more than enough time for backing up. There is a push button on the power plug to power up the camera at any time. The split screen function requires a second camera. There is no clear path to acquiring a compatible camera, and there is not image storage, so I am not sure where the value would be in setting up the unit for split screen, two camera image operation. The supplied manual references a suction cup mount. The mount I received has an adjustable head, but the base is secured with double face tape. I could not use it because the top surface of my dash is already occupied with a multi purpose GPS.I made a mount to position to monitor at the right line of sight, but it would have been nice if the manufacturer included a few different simple mounts or made them available as an extra cost accessory.I am happy with the unit and it makes my vehicle much safer when navigating crowded parking lots.

Easy installation and very good display
I am very happy with the product. It’s easy to install, easy to operate, and the camera and display produce a bright, detailed image. Installation to either your front or back license plate mounting holes is easy with the bracket which is permanently attached to the camera. I chose to mount the camera to the front of my 2017 Ford Escape because I can’t see how close I am to objects when parking. Not having to run a wire from the camera to the display is a huge advantage. If you intend to mount the camera someplace other than your license plate locations you will need to come up with your own mounting bracket. The display is clear both during the day and night. The field of view is not specified but the camera covers a wide angle. I have not had any issues with the connection between the camera and display. The display is bright but the glossy surface is prone to reflections (depending on where the display is mounted and how it is angled). I am considering applying a phone anti glare screen protector. The display mount has a sticky pad attached to the bottom. The type of adhesive used is designed to allow the mount to be repositioned as often as you wish. A short thin cord with a socket on the loose end is permanently attached to the display. The cigarette lighter plug has a rather long somewhat thicker cord attached, also with a socket attached on the end. You can route this cord to the display and then plug the two cords together. You will probably have excess cord which you will need to wrap up. The display is not a touch screen. The buttons on the side of the display are used to change the settings. You can flip or reverse left and right the image depending on how the camera is mounted. Brightness can also be adjusted. Since the camera runs on solar charged batteries the display only operates when a button is pressed on the car charger plug. (You can activate the camera using a side button on the display but unless the display is permanently attached to your dash the display is likely to move when the side buttons are pressed.) You can set the camera to stay on for a maximum of 120 seconds. Battery life seems very good so far. Even if you park your car in a garage your camera will charge while driving or when the car is parked at work or elsewhere. If necessary the camera can be charged using a micro USB charger. I would rather have had them use a USB C connector but most people will not need to charge the camera so it’s not an issue.

    Finally have a backup cam!
2011 4Runner, it doesn’t have a backup camera. Finally decided to use this since a friend said there are solar and wireless ones now and so I gave this a try. First things first, on a 5th gen 4runner, to lift up the liftgate, this solar camera when mounted to the license plate WILL block the handle. I didn’t feel like mounting it to the lower portion of the plate for a few reasons, but I was able to modify the AUTO-VOX bracket slightly to still use it in the top 4runner plate holes. I essentially flipped the camera mount upside down (like you would if mounting to the lower holes of the plate), positioned it just low enough for the top holes to work, marked and then drilled two small holes and inserted two small bolts and nuts through these top holes so that the mount would rest on these bolts so the camera mount woudln’t tilt as you close the liftgate. The other thing is the way to tighten the license plate down now is sort of blocked by the camera and battery pack, so I swapped out the license plate bolts to M6 (same thread as the lic plate bolts) so you can tighten it down from the side using an open-ended wrench. This method has been secure and is holding up. Slightly less convenient that just slamming your hand up into the liftgate latch, but if you go from the side (in between the liftgate latch handle and the camera), it works fine. One reviewer said it takes a minute to connect — not so in my case. I counted 5 seconds before you get your camera and monitor to pair up when you hit the button, not a big deal at all. Maybe his setup has more interference but with a 4runner if you mount the monitor onto the center console/dash area, it’s totally fine. There is also no lag.I didn’t like the dash mount this came with, but noticed the ballhead is the same 17mm ballhead that all cell phone car vent mounts use, so I bought just the vent-clip ballhead and mounted it to my air vent instead. It’s just a better spot than on top of hte dash IMO.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FX7BL84?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleOne thing is this method makes it look like you left your cell phone in the car, but hopefully since it’s horizontal, it will look a little less like a cell, and since it’s not in a cell phone holder’s cradle, perhaps that helps too.Used this for the 4runner’s 12V charger and it fits perfectly in the lower cubby hole (which I used some sticky mat material so it doesn’t slide around. This socket adapter still lets me use IMO a better/more powerful charger than the one included with the camera. I have the camera’s cig lighter plugged into this device instead and charge my phones using this same device and not the camera’s plug.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1MR5VDT?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleYou can use these clips to neatly tuck the wires along the side of the radio console:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BFNP4W9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1You can likely use smaller ones if you’d like, but these worked for me as I also route wires for an Auxbeam controller along the same path. One thing to mention is the guide lines obviously don’t turn like they do on a factory camera’s, but I assume that’s going to be true with any aftermarket one.
