Super Cute Tornado Book For Kids!
[...]“My First Tornado Books for Kids” presents tornados to children in a way that is engaging but not scary – even while validating feelings. It’s a great addition to the library of anyone who lives in an area where tornados are possible. The only part of the book that threw me off were the illustrations — which are great, by the way, but the parents’ appearances change from one photo to the next. I noticed it; I doubt a child would.

Great Preparation for Kids
[...]I love the colorful illustrations in the book. “ My First Tornado.” is an easy to understand, calm story of how to prepare for and what to do during a tornado. Children may be comforted to know their parents know what to do, and that they can make a difference by following the directions of mom or dad. This book is a gentle story and can help prepare the kiddos if a natural disaster should occur.

A Fascinating Look at Nature’s Power
[...]My granddaughter is having her birthday party soon; the theme is tornadoes because she’s like a little tornado! This book was such a terrific way to explore the experience of a tornado! It’s written exciting and informative, making it perfect for kids or anyone curious about the weather. She was glued to every page and asked many great questions afterward. The story balances the thrill of the storm with safety lessons that stick. This is an excellent choice if you’re looking for an engaging way to learn about tornadoes!

Good Education for Kids
[...]I like the way this books presents the tornados in a calming matter. It teaches kids what to do and how stay calm in a scary situation. The better prepared they are, the less scary it will be for them.

Great to prepare a child for Tornados
[...]“My First Tornado books for kids” is a great storybook to teach kids about what to do during tornados. Tornados are scary and parent’s actions to escape the tornado can be very stressful for anyone, especially kids. If you child knows that moving quickly to the cellar or any safe place is what will happen and it is OK to be scared, but if you do what is necessary, you can be safe. A great story and a wonderful learning tool.

A calm introduction of the idea of tornadoes to children
[...]Living in Kentucky, we do get a share of the tornadoes that come through this part of the country. I thought this might be good for the kids, and it is, but with a caveat. It’s a good story, is a nice primer for talking about tornadoes, but the art is off a little. The characters change a bit from page to page, a little inconsistent. I appreciate the message, and I thought the quiz at the end was smart. Good read, I recommend it for the younger ones, just needs a few tweaks.

Fun and Educational
[...]At first I thought tornadoes would be a little bit of scary theme for kids but the book handles it well and is very entertaining. I also like that this series has a quiz that helps kids retain what they learned.
