You can’t really know how well it works until you have a fire to put out
[...]but.. It is a great size and the fire-repellant materials are excellent as opposed to using a towel or blanket from home that is not!!!It hangs easily just inside my kitchen cabinet door for quick removal if needed,with a large metal-rimmed hole for firm hanging.

Surprised how heavy they are!
[...]So I purchased these fire blankets one so that I can put up in my kitchen and the other one to cover my bank of lithium Iron phosphate batteries as a blanket over them just in case something ever should happen. they’re 40“ x 40“ so they’re pretty big and they’ve got some weight to them. I was extremely surprised. Hope they don’t ever have to be used though. Fires are not really fun.

Piece of mind

Fortunately neither of us has had to use them, but I am glad that we have a way to extinguish a kitchen fire should one ever occur. It gives me piece of mind knowing that my mom has one in her kitchen, especially since she has had a kitchen fire in the past that caused a lot of damage. Perfect gift for someone who has “everything”
[...]I bought these after seeing a local news report of a man whose car caught on fire, and he could not get out, and nobody else seemed to be able to safely get him out until he had been in there a long time. These are designed to be quick release and will smother a fire almost instantly, so tossing it over a fire, when getting away is not an immediate alternative, or when your engine is smoking, etc., I purchased a bunch of them and gave them to all of my adult children to keep in their cars and kitchens. Although the instructions do not say this specifically, it seems that these would be the best thing to use to smother a fire already on a person or to throw over yourself to run out of a burning building. You don’t have to know what kind of fire it is; without oxygen, there is no fire. This is not instead of a fire extinguisher or instead of calling the fire department, it is to help you have a safe way to get away.
