   Great product!
   The AiPaper has made working easier and faster for me. Right now, we are working remotely, but before my team and I would use a whiteboard to share ideas and brainstorm solutions. Now I am able to handwrite ideas and share it with the team. It allows me to take notes easily and keep track of my notes. It looks like paper and is light weight. The whole experience feels like paper with the benefit of easily storing and sharing with others. The packaging is great, and I’m happy I don’t have to go buy more accessories for it. I’ve been looking for a product like this for awhile, and I’m really happy I invested in AiPaper.

   A great implementation of the Carta 1300 screen
   Viwoods ai paper has perhaps the best implementation of Carta 1300 screen technology as of today. The screen is noticeably whiter than other devices with the same screen technology. It’s much whiter when compared to reMarkable Paper Pro. In the pictures, Viwoods ai paper has such a whiter screen as if it has front light. But it doesn’t. And in darker situations, it can be hard to read and write on it. Writing feel is great. The screen is slippery when writing with the regular pen tip that comes with the stylus pen. I’d love to have some friction. (I really like the writing feel on reMarkable paper pro.) The device itself is fast and the UI design is minimalistic, something I prefer over Onyx devices. I’ve been able to install third party apps from Google play store after enabling Google services.The hardware of the device is great. But there is a lot of work to do when it comes to the software side. The reading app is still very basic. You can’t crop pages or rotate the screen to read larger pages. There’s no highlighting function as of now. Even if you can install some of the best 3rd party reading apps, you can’t handwrite on pdfs using those apps. There is no dictionary in the reading app to look up for foreign words. The company has been steadily releasing updates. That’s something that makes me hopeful for future software improvements. I hope the reading app will be a priority for near future releases to gain some of the much needed functionalities.

   Great productivity tool
   It’s a fast and fast developing eink tablet. The team behind it move fast and are communicative with users. The build quality is better than boox and remarkable and I find it a delight to use. My only regret is not buying it sooner.

   Surprisingly solid e-ink tablet
   Incredible hardware. The reviews videos on YouTube that compare screen whiteness of premium e-ink tablet got me interested in checking out this new player in the market. It turns out viwood’s screen is indeed noticeably whiter, which relaxes the requirement on ambient lighting conditions quite a bit. This makes it a joy to work through dense PDF documents, but unexpectedly also leads to great manga reading experience.As for the software, the basics are there, the updates are regular and meaningful, and on a few more interesting/debatable design decisions the team is willing to communicate with the users and get their preservative. On a side note, the transparent lock screen in the latest update is awesome, really brings more simplicity to the flow. File transfer: I was reluctant to use the cloud transfer (note: it’s only a temporary landing zone instead of a permanent cloud space) but it turns out to be pretty smooth. On the same topic, because I was more used to physically transferring files, viwood’s treatment of how the file system is abstracted away by default was initially concerning, but the ability to side-load/use google play store makes up for it.Some other misc things that contributed to my experience…The friction of writing is just a tad lower than what I prefer, but this is probably the most subjective area when it comes to these devices. Ghosting can show up here and there, but is minimal. Last but not least, the bundle’s value is reasonable: folio, pen, tips are all included with solid build quality.

   An E-Ink Device That Replaces Everything Else
   I absolutely love my AiPaper. It’s completely replaced all my other devices and even paper and pencil for both work and personal use. I use it for everything—taking notes for work, journaling, reading comics on Marvel Unlimited and Shonen Jump, and even catching up on articles from the web. It’s also been fantastic for reading epubs in KOReader, which works seamlessly on this device.One of the standout aspects of the AiPaper is its exceptional customer service. The stylus I initially received had an issue with the nibs falling out. I reached out to customer service, and they immediately sent me a replacement stylus, which arrived in just two days and worked perfectly. Their quick response and attention to customer satisfaction made a lasting impression.The bundle that comes with the AiPaper is also a huge plus. It includes a high-quality leather or faux leather half folio case, the stylus, and 14 nibs (12 in the box and 2 cleverly stored in the side of the case). Everything feels premium and well thought out, adding to the overall value of the device.Another reason I chose the AiPaper over other brand’s devices is the dedication of the development team. They consistently roll out updates (scheduled for at least one a month from Sept-Dec 2024, and have done about two times that so far) and are highly responsive to feature requests, which gives me confidence in the long-term potential of this device. I can see a strong community forming around such a well-supported product, and that’s something I’m excited to be a part of.The hardware is equally impressive. The 4100mAh battery lasts much longer than most other devices in this category, yet the device itself is incredibly lightweight—just 370g, which is even lighter than my phone! It’s perfect for extended use without feeling heavy or cumbersome.The Carta 1300 screen at 300 PPI was the final selling point for me. While many brands are chasing color displays, I was looking for a solid black-and-white device, and this screen is exactly that: bright, crisp, and incredibly clear.In short, the AiPaper has become my go-to device for everything: work, reading, journaling, and more. It checks all the boxes—top-notch customer service, a high-quality bundle, a dedicated development team, exceptional battery life, lightweight design, and a stunning monochrome display. I really couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommended!
