It’s always great to find a new author who writes a story that just grabs you and you can’t stop reading! K. Bromberg and Lucky Shot did that to me! Loved Hardy and Whitney’s story!! They fell so hard and beautifully for each other.

At the start of this book Hardy comes across as arrogant and self destructive, but this super rich British soccer star who is spending a season in the U.S crosses the path of Whitney, who has spent a lot of her life in foster care. Despite the superficial differences in lifestyle both characters have abandonment issues and have to work hard for their HEA. This is a good sports romance with a lot of heart.

As a girl who grew up surrounded by soccer, I’m eating up this trope and leaving no crumbs.Hardy is a British professional soccer player who finds himself in hot water once the media gets a hold of a scandal he was involved with and he is looking to repair his reputation. His team believes he will receive good PR if he volunteers soccer academy but let’s say he isn’t too crazy about the idea.Whitney is the owner of the academy who is doing everything in her power to get the proper funding that they need to keep it going. After getting off on the wrong foot, they place a bet and we watch as Hardy eats his words and has to spend an entire month at the school.These two are both dealing with the hurt that sticks with you from their tough childhoods and I love watching them start to heal as they grow closer. Whitney is one fierce FMC whose witty banter kept Hardy on his toes as she shows him how rewarding it can be to give back to the community.I loved watching the change in Hardy’s attitude and how determined he was to show her that together they could have it all. I fell in love with these character early in their journey and I was holding my breathe when the angst ramps up until they hit that well deserved HEA.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hardy and Whitney for the win!!When I say Hardy is arrogant, that is almost an understatement, he is a soccer God and he knows it! The last thing he wanted to be doing was volunteering at Whitney‘s soccer Academy, but his reputation was in need of a few repairs and she was in desperate need of media attention to keep her academies doors open. And let me tell you, these two could banter! From the moment Hardy finally showed up for his obligations, Whitney was busting his chops and I loved watching him realize she was everything he had been missing from his life. He had to work hard to break down her walls but it was so worth it.“Loving is the easy part. It’s not letting the fear rule that’s the hard part.”Whitney never had it easy and when life was looking up, everything was ripped away from her. So when Hardy waltzed into her life and turned it upside down again, it was easy to see how she would hesitate to open up and let herself love and be loved. But dang it, did she deserve the world! She was such a selfless person and gave everything and then some for the kids in her academy. I loved watching Hardy weasel his way in and help to carry some of that burden she thought only she could carry. They may have come from opposite circumstances, but soccer was what saved them both and in the end, it was what brought them together! Overall this was such a great sports romance that I couldn’t get enough of!

I absolutely loved Hardy and Whitney’s story! From the beginning, I was immediately hooked to this story. Lucky Shot was unlike any sports romance that I’ve read in a while. It had such emotional depth that I didn’t expect. There’s just something about romances where two broken characters who have past traumas or difficulties can find healing and love together. For me, those kinds of stories always hit differently. Those are the love stories that I can never get enough because it shows that no matter what struggles or traumas you’ve been through, you can still get a HEA. I loved the chemistry and bond between Hardy and Whitney. Seeing these two fall in love just tugged at my heartstrings.Overall, I really enjoyed this book and cannot recommend it enough! This is one sports romance that should be on everyone’s TBR especially those who love emotional romances.

Hardy is a soccer star on loan from the Premier League and not having the greatest luck staying out of trouble in the MLS. I love how Hardy is gently pushed to right his reputation. Whitney hasn’t had an easy life and soccer is one thing that gives her comfort. She’s trying everything she can to keep the doors to her soccer academy open. I love how Whitney stands up for her kids at the academy when it comes to Hardy. She does not hold back in putting him in his place. I love the chemistry build as walls start to fall. I love the changes in Hardy as he’s sees Whitney’s life and struggles as he gets to know her. You feel for Whitney and how she lets people in. I could not get enough of Whitney and Hardy.
