[...]I’ve tried a few other adult coloring books, but frankly I didn’t like them. They filled in too much of the art with dots and circles, and the lines were very thin, spaces very tiny. I love this book because the pictures are appealing, easy to color in, nice thick outlines, and no part of the picture is filled in with dots and circles, etc. I’m not one for tedious tiny work that I have to be super careful to stay in the lines. I consider coloring relaxation and I want to get in there and wipe those pencils across the page. I can do that with this book and I love it.

Same kind of paper as previous Coco books so be sure to put paper behind the page you are coloring if you’re using markers.Shading:If you want to add shadows on top of the marker areas, the Prismacolor soft core pencil crayons work beautifully, but only after you let the paper dry completely first, otherwise you risk paper tearing.Marker Blending:Even though the paper is thin you can get away with 1 round of normal blending techniques with both alcohol and water based markers. More than one round though and the paper may start to give way.Tools:So far in this Coco book I’ve tried using:Copic markersTombow water based markersOhuhu alcohol markersKingart water based markersPrismacolor Soft Core Pencil CrayonsSakura GellyRoll Moonlight Bold 10 Pens(as shown in my photos)Everything has worked beautifully even though the paper is not thick. In some respects I think the thinner paper provides an advantage to successfully achieving some of the shading and blending techniques.I own lots of Coco books and love coloring in them. Her illustration style is calm and friendly, making coloring in them a relaxing and enjoyable experience. There were only a few pages in this book that I personally wouldn’t find enjoyable to color, like the “how to make a relaxing spell page” which was odd it was even in there, and some holiday themed pages (wish the holiday pages wouldn’t always be sprinkled in the non-holiday themed books), but they are easily removable. The other pages are absolutely amazing to color and you can tell much thought and care went into creating illustrations that would be fun to color while also helping to reduce stress.A highly recommended coloring book for all ages! Great way to spend time together!

The coloring book has the cutest pictures. Love the fact there is not too much detail as the adult coloring books. Which makes it more fun in our opinion!TIP: After coloring, we write a story on the back about the picture. Great way to get in some creative writing and build vocabulary as well!
